C.harles let us know today that one of the speakers for today's dialogue session was disappointed at the kind of discussions we came up with regarding national issues. Supposedly, we thought so very much similarly to his generation - without any fresh input at all. He also mentioned that perhaps we all came from the same few high schools, and therefore all had similar ways of thinking, and I'm starting to wonder if that isn't false. I did find it a tad surprising that nearly all of us came virtually from the same few schools, and in that kind of an environment, it is hardly astonishing that we encounter the same experiences and lack vibrancy and diversity of views. Perhaps we were all so accustomed to thinking in a "mature", sensible way - that's the way we were brought up and taught to be - that we automatically eliminate seemingly illogical hypotheses and proposals, when someone else who wasn't brought up that way would have instead asked "why not?" when in that situation.
